'Education on non-violence inspires us to develop sense of compassion'

Kathmandu, March 31: Vice-President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has extended best wishes of happiness, peace, prosperity and spiritual wellness to all the followers of the Jain community on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the founder of the Jain religion, Mahavir.  

The 2625th birth anniversary of Mahavir Jain, the founder of Jainism, is being marked today across the country.   

"The life philosophy of Mahavir is the priceless foundation of human civilization," the Vice President added. 

In his message on 2625th anniversary of 24th Tirthakar of the Jain religion, Vice-President Yadav stated that the life of Mahavir has offered messages of non-violence, truth, compassion and equality, adding that his life philosophy inspires society to move ahead on the path of morality and tolerance.    

Mahavir propounded the principles of truth, non-violence, celibacy, infallibility and non-aggression, which inspire us to move towards building a socially and culturally beautiful country and society, the Vice President added.

"Mahavir Jayanti is not only a religious celebration but also a cultural celebration," Vice President Yadav viewed. (RSS)
