Kathmandu, Jan 29: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Dhakal, has urged the bodies concerned to immediately forward the construction of the Budhigandaki Reservoir Hydropower Project.
In an inauguration of the 10th Dhading Festival organised by Dhading Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President Dhakal laid emphasis on the need of forwarding construction activities of the 1,200- mw project.
He informed that Nepal Development Public (NDP) Limited Company was established with the investment of industrialists and entrepreneurs across the country. On behalf of the private sector, they were ready to invest through the company if the project sees resources crunch.
Stating that there are immense potentials of hydropower development in Nepal, President Dhakal opined that it would further help unlock the potential of minerals, agro products and other business. The NDP was ready to invest in any potential areas in Dhading district like minerals and agriculture, he added, stating that private sector always completes any project in the slated time and budget.
"Many industries, factories, hotel and commercial buildings were torched and damaged during Gen Z movement occurred on September 8 and 9," he expressed worry. However, most of them have already been brought into operation again by carrying out maintenance and reconstruction, according to him.(RSS)
