By Sher Bahadur Sarki, Bajura, Jan 18: A fire at the home of local resident Vishnu Rokaya in Gaumul Rural Municipality-2, Mallodugun, Bajura, has caused losses worth more than a million rupees.
The blaze broke out from an electrical wire this morning and destroyed cash, food grains and other belongings stored inside the house.
Although the fire did not harm any people, Rokaya said that money, clothes and grains inside the house got burnt to ashes.
Rokaya said, “After the fire destroyed our house and all our food and clothing, my family now has to live under a tarpaulin in the cold.”
Rokaya said, “The family lost more than Rs. 50,000 worth of grains produced during the rainy season and income earned through labour, leaving them uncertain about where to live and what to eat.’’
Devbahadur Rokaya, the ward chairperson of Gaumul Rural Municipality-2, stated the estimated loss was more than Rs. 2 million.
Thus, the victim family appealed for relief support, pushing authorities and stakeholders to help them at their problem.
