By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 10: The Nepali Congress (NC) has passed a condolence resolution expressing deep sorrow over the death of senior journalist and former minister Homnath Dahal.
The central committee meeting held today passed a condolence resolution, according to the Acting President of NC Purna Bahadur Khadka.
He said that it has been decided to fly the party flag at half-mast at the party's central, provincial and district offices until 10,11 and 12 January and 28, and to close all central, provincial and district office on January 11.
According to Acting President Khadka, the party proposed to keep condolence books at the central, provincial and district offices for 13 days after his ascension, and to organize a condolence meeting in Okhaldhunga on the 13th day from the demise.
Dahal, born in the then Baruneshwor Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga district, was the editor of the weekly vernacular, Rashtrapukar, the mouthpiece of the Nepali Congress.
He had served as a member of the Nepali Congress Okhaldhunga district and discharged the responsibility of a central member of the then Nepali Congress (Democratic).
The proposal was unanimously passed by the central committee meeting.
Dahal passed away on Saturday morning.
