LOSAPA Chair Thakur files nomination for NA member

Janakpurdham, Jan 7: Mahanth Thakur, the chair of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, has filed his candidacy for the post of National Assembly member. He filed his nomination papers at the office of the National Assembly Election Officer in Madhesh Province here today. 

Subash Babu Puri, the local election office's Election Officer, shared that provincial member Jaynul Rain proposed Thakur's nomination, which was seconded by Minister of Education Rani Sharma Tiwari. 

He noted that there are a total of 104 voters from the Madhesh Provincial Assembly and 266 voters from local levels eligible for this position. Following Thakur's nomination, party leader Sarat Singh Bhandari announced that the candidacy was filed based on a consensus between the CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress. 

The Election Officer's office has confirmed that nominations are currently being accepted for the four vacant National Assembly seats representing the Madhesh Province. (RSS)
