Kathmandu, Jan 3: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has released its annual calendar of national and international sports competitions.
CAN Secretary Paras Khadka released the calendar at a press conference organized here today.
The calendar of events for the cricket teams start with the Men's Prime Minister's Cup in January, which will be held until April including the district to the central stage.
The national phase of the Women's Prime Minister's Cup will be held from May 2 to 20. The national phase of the National School Cricket Championship, the U-19 National Cricket Tournament and the CAN Youth Camp will also be held in May. In June, the CAN Level 1 Coaching Course will be conducted in all seven provinces, while the National T-20 Championship will be organized from June 15 to 25.
The CAN Level 2 Coaching Course and Pitch Curator Course will be conducted in July. The CAN Level 1 Umpiring Course will be organized in August. It has been proposed to organize a women's long format tournament from September to October.
The Nepal Premier League (NPL) has been included in the calendar from October to November. The U-16 Boys/Girls National School Cricket Championship, inter-school and college-level long format tournaments and regional tournaments will be organized in October. Regional tournaments will also be conducted in December.
Similarly, in international cricket competitions, the global selection for the ICC Women's T-20 World Cup is being organized in Nepal in January. The Nepali men's team is playing the T-20 World Cup to be held in India in February.
The men's team will play the ICC League 2 series in March. The women's team will also play a bilateral series, CAN has said. The U-19 team is also scheduled to tour Bhutan.
The men's ACC Premier Cup will be held in August, and there will also be a T-20 series with Kuwait. The men's team will play a bilateral series in September, and the women's team will also play a bilateral series with the UAE. (RSS)
