By Ashmita Pokhrel, Dhadingbesi, Jan 2: Lapa village of Ruby Valley Rural Municipality-5, Dhading, is experiencing the comfort of transportation for the first time.

Transport has now officially resumed in Lapa village, where road expansion has not been possible for a long time due to its remote geography.

According to the chairman of Ruby Valley Rural Municipality, Ram Singh Tamang, Lapa Village is the largest and most populous ward in the rural municipality.

Road construction was challenging in the area due to the difficult terrain and huge rocks.

He said that within the first year of the election, the local government proceeded with the road construction by managing blasting itself.

Currently, the road track has reached the upper village, and some difficult sections have been upgraded to make them suitable for vehicles in collaboration with the local hydro project under construction.

"Now, probably within a week or ten days, vehicles will officially run to Lapa village," said  Rural Municipality Chairperson.

According to him, although there may be some problems in traffic operation during the rainy season due to the lack of a bridge at the junction of the Aankhu and Lapa rivers, however, winter will see no problem.

The daily life of locals had previously been greatly affected due to the lack of roads.

The vehicle could only reach Batase village in Ruby Valley-4, and from there, it was necessary to carry heavy loads on the back for about three hours.

It is believed that with the operation of transportation, daily life, including commuting, education, and health, will become easier.

Chairman Tamang said that the locals are elated after the road was completed, adding that the local government is proud to work according to the wishes of the people, respecting their votes.

Informing about the upcoming plans, he pointed out the need to construct a bridge at the intersection of three wards, including Ward 5 and 6.

He said that the DPR of the bridge has been prepared and that although some of it has been affected by the landslide, the work is being carried out in coordination with local hydro projects to complete the bridge construction within his tenure.
