Kathmandu, Dec 30: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal asserted that the interim government has move forward with the goal of ensuring good-governance and strengthening public service delivery.
Minister Aryal said so after conducting an on-site inspection of the Nepal-India Integrated Check Post at Buddhanagar in Morang district operative since 2020.
Minister Aryal reached Biratnagar, Morang on Monday to attend a one-day Koshi Province-level security seminar scheduled at Budhanagar, Morang, according to Minister Aryal's Secretariat.
The Minister noted that the major responsibility of the current government is to conduct election to House of Representatives on March 5, 2026 ensuring security and peace.
According to him, the Home administration had devised its strategy with the understanding that peace and security were the foremost prerequisite at present and economic activities could not become dynamic without assurance of peace and security.
Furthermore, the Minister said that the government had taken cognizance of the demand for the separate security force at the Check post spanning across 129 bigaha of land.
He pledged that the Ministry of Home Affairs will coordinate efforts with the relevant ministries and agencies to deploy a security force.
Minister Aryal on Monday inspected the building of the District Administration Office in Morang district which was set on fire during the Gen-Z movement and was later renovated and brought back into service.
The Minister also inspected the holding centre built by the Nepali Army during COVID-19 pandemic. The holding centre is currently lying vacant and is under the army's supervision.
On the office, Chief District Officer of Morang, Yuwaraj Kattel, briefed Minister Aryal about the physical infrastructures that were damaged in the Gen-Z uprising.
He also shed light on the services that the Ministry of Home Affairs had prioritized and was delivering at present. (RSS)
