By Mahima Devkota, Kathmandu, Dec 18: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has lauded the Gorkhapatra Corporation for holding a dialogue on economic recovery and resilience so as to contribute to prosperous Nepal.
“Gorkhapatra is not just a media which gives information through journalism, but also a government body which can provide discourse on important topics. I thank the corporation for rising above and providing a platform for the discourse”.
He showed commitment that the conclusion drawn from this discourse will be implemented by the government and concerned authorities and bodies.

"After realizing responsibility as the Minister, I on the second day of assumption of the office, expressed commitment to bring all the involved in the government sector to the Social Security Fund, and now it has started to yield fruits as even Gorkhapatra has entered the SSF," He said.
I applaud the GC for joining join hands in the government sector.
He said, “Gorkhapatra is now moving shoulder to shoulder with the changing world. we need to move forward in the digital highway by bringing forth all the media outlets into the digitalization.”
The Minister said that the Ministry has approved the O&M (organization and management survey) of the GC.
Communication Minster further stressed that government is committed to hold elections on time and to create a conducive environment to successfully conduct elections.
Country has already entered the phase election. Election is not a burden but a festival, he said, adding the government is sensitive to Gen Z aspirations as expressed in the movement.
Highlighting that the present government has focused on good governance, corruption control and holding election, he said that government is working rigorously on these three mandates.
Stressing that more than 30 corruption cases have reached to the court in the last three months, he said that the norm of halting cases before reaching the court in the influence of power has been brought to an end.
He said, “We have given a thumbs up to the anti-corruption bodies to move forward independently.”
