blog

Parbat, Dec 14: A one-day heart disease testing camp was conducted on Saturday in Thulipokhari, Kushma Municipality-12, where more than four hundred and fifty individuals were tested. This camp, organized by Kushma Basic Hospital Thulipokhari with technical assistance from Save the Heart and Nepal Cardio, resulted in over 450 tests being performed.

Ward Chairman Jhalak Rimal of Kushma Municipality-12 reported that five individuals were identified with serious conditions and were referred to Kathmandu for surgical intervention. In light of the challenges faced by rural residents suffering from heart-related ailments due to financial limitations, this camp was established.

Patients from Kushma, Phalewas Municipality, Modi Rural Municipality, and the adjacent Syangja District also attended the camp. Under the guidance of senior cardiologist Dr. Anil Bhattarai, a team comprising Dr. Suman Adhikari, Dr. Sutap Yadav, Bodhraj Gautam, and others delivered medical care. Patients received consultations and tests pertaining to heart diseases, including free ECG, echocardiography, and medications.

Local resident Ramesh Paudel expressed that patients, who would typically incur expenses amounting to millions of rupees for treatment, were immensely relieved to access these complimentary services. He further noted that the camp particularly benefited the underprivileged, Dalits, and elderly individuals.  (RSS)
