By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 26: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has
pointed at the need of removing provision for the Prime Minister to be chancellor
of universities in the country so as to shut the door of unnecessary politics
in academia.
"Situation has emerged that the policy and programme to be
approved in June is being passed now in November. This is uninspiring.
Universities should be made free from politics," said PM Karki addressing
annual general assembly of the Tribhuvan University today.
She underlined the need of the universities to be self-reliant
financially as well.
