Child dies after being hit by school bus in Rautahat

By Praveen Kumar Sharma, Rautahat, (Chandrapur), Nov 21: A child died after being hit by a school bus in Jayanagar, Garuda  Municipality-1, Rautahat.

"A two-year-old boy died after being hit by a bus at around 8:15 AM on Friday," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bishnu Pradeep Bashyal, spokesperson for the Rautahat District Police Office.

The deceased has been identified as Aditya Kumar Sah, 2-year-old son of Ranjan Sah of Jayanagar, Garuda Municipality-1. 

Sah was hit by a bus of Om Academy School (Province-3-001 Kha 1726) heading towards Manpur from Jayanagar.

According to Bashyal, spokesperson of the Rautahat District Police Office, the child, who was seriously injured in the bus accident, died on the spot.

He said that the body of the deceased has been sent to the Provincial Hospital, Gaur, for a postmortem.

District Police Office, Rautahat, said that the bus that caused the accident is under the control of the Area Police Office, Garuda, and a search is underway for the bus driver, who is absconding.

Police said that a detailed investigation into the accident is underway.
