By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 13: Defending champions Karnali Yashvis have booked their place in the final of the Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWVL).

Karnali cruised to a straight-set victory over Madhesh United at the National Sports Council’s covered hall. They dominated the match with set scores of 25–15, 25–12, and 25–17.

With four wins from four matches, Karnali sit at the top of the table with 12 points. Safiya Pun was named Player of the Match for her standout performance.

In a surprising result later in the day, second-placed Lalitpur Queens were upset by bottom-ranked Pokhara Ninjas. Pokhara stunned the title contenders with a straight-set win, handing Lalitpur their first defeat of the league. The set scores were 25–22, 15–13, and 25–20.

The win lifted Pokhara to third place with four points from four matches. Lalitpur remain on nine points from four matches.

The loss has delayed Lalitpur’s path to the final. They will face Karnali in the final league fixture. Kathmandu Spikers also remain in contention for a spot in the final, provided they win both of their remaining matches. If Kathmandu drop even one match, Lalitpur will advance.

On Thursday, Kathmandu will face Pokhara in the first match, followed by Lumbini Lavas versus Madhesh United in the second.

Kathmandu have three points from three matches. Madhesh also have three points, but from four matches. Lumbini sit at the bottom with two points from three matches.

The second edition of the EWVL, originally held in Pokhara, was postponed due to the Gen-Z movement on 8 and 9 September. The league resumed from that point today.

There are no foreign players in the remaining fixtures. All teams have agreed to complete the tournament with their existing nine-player squads.
