ODI World Cup qualifiers: US defeats Nepal by four wickets

Kathmandu, Nov 1: Nepal was defeated by the USA with four wickets in the match held today under the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. The match was held in Dubai, UAE.     

The team USA achieved the target of 272 runs in 49 overs with the loss of six wickets in the game.     

For the USA, Saityaja Mukamallah made the highest runs with 75, while Milinda Kumar made 70 runs in 66 balls.     

Earlier, Nepal posted a total of 271 runs in 49.5 overs at the loss of all wickets before the USA.     

Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored for Nepal with 75 runs in 67 balls followed by Karan KC who scored 49 runs in 31 balls. Opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 47 runs in 65 runs, Bhim Sarki scored 43 in 58 balls while captain Rohit Paudel contributed 36 runs in 46 balls.     

This is the third consecutive defeat of Nepal in the ongoing tournament. Prior to this, Nepal had also lost to the USA in the first match by 106 runs on October 25 and UAE in the second match with five wickets.     

The USA leads the points table with 34 points from 23 matches while Nepal languishes in the 7th position with 12 points in 19 matches.(RSS)
