Government decides to recall ambassadors of 11 countries

Kathmandu, Oct 16: The government has decided to recall Nepali ambassadors from 11 different countries.     

Today's meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to recall Nepali resident ambassadors to China, Germany, Israel, Malaysia, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan.     

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel shared that Prof Dr Krishna Prasad Oli, Nepali Ambassador to China, Dr Shail Rupakheti to Germany, Professor Dhan Prasad Pandit to Israel, Dr Netra Prasad Timilsina to Malaysia, Ramesh Chandra Poudel to Qatar, Jung Bahadur Chauhan to Russia, Naresh Bikram Dhakal to Saudi Arabia, Sanil Nepal to Spain, Chandra Kumar Ghimire to the United Kingdom, Lokdarshan Regmi to the United States and Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi to Japan are being recalled.     

The cabinet also decided to accept a grant of USD 10 million from the World Bank's 'Multidonor Trust Fund' for the Public Finance Management Project.     

Likewise, the government has decided to establish two joint companies in Nepal and India with the joint investment of Nepal Electricity Authority and India's Power Grid Corporation Limited to construct the Inaruwa-Poorniya and Dodhara-Bareilly 400 kV inland transmission lines. Spokesperson Kharel said that it has been decided to approve the Nepal Electricity Authority's capital investment of Rs 1 billion and Rs 2 billion respectively in these companies.     

The meeting has decided to approve the agreement on the Mutual Legal Aid Treaty between Nepal and India. The Council of Ministers decided to approve Nepal's proposal for negotiations to conclude a mutual legal aid treaty on criminal matters with other countries as needed and to send proposals to various countries through diplomatic channels as needed.     

A decision was taken to approve the master plan of the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground Project in Kirtipur and determine it as a national priority project. It has also been decided to invite bids for the remaining work as per the plan and approve the procurement process.     

The government has decided to promote Registrar of Nepal Judicial Service Group Jitendra Babu Thapaliya, Gazetted First Class, to the Gazetted Special Category and post him as Secretary of the Council.     

A decision was also taken to promote Acting Deputy Attorney General Uddhav Prasad Pudasaini to the Special Class and post him as Secretary of the Commission of Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons. (RSS)
