Woman found dead in Okhaldhunga, murder suspected

By Sher Bahadur Rai, Okhaldhunga, Oct.14: A woman has been found dead in her own home in the Okhaldhunga district.

Ratna Kumari Katwal Karki, aged 52, of Charkhu, Siddhicharan Municipality-4, Okhaldhunga, has been found dead in her own home on Monday morning.

Police have launched an investigation after the body of Karki, who was living alone at home, was found in suspicious conditions.

According to the Police Inspector Bijay Karki, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Okhaldhunga,  the deceased's husband had passed away a few years ago.

Police Inspector Karki said that the incident appears suspicious due to the location and condition of the body, so a trained dog (canine) has been requested to collect additional evidence.

Locals had informed the police that Karki was found dead in her house on the morning of September 26. Police then reached the spot and started a preliminary investigation without exhuming the body.

Police said that a trained dog has been brought in from the canine branch of the Koshi Province Police Office in Dharan. 

Police have started the evidence collection and investigation process, suspecting the incident to be a murder.
