Lalitpur, Sept 6: CPN (UML) Second Statute Convention is underway at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Centre in Lalitpur since Friday.
On the second day, Saturday, Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli urged delegates attending the party’s ongoing Second Statute Convention to present, if any differing views or concerns regarding the Statute Amendment Proposal, during the group discussion.
Oli said that doing so would help with effective time management. He made the statement in response to Standing Committee member Karna Bahadur Thapa, who signalled a desire to speak about the proposal just as group divisions for discussions were about to begin on Friday, the opening day of the convention.
Subsequently, Thapa, after obtaining permission from Oli, distributed pamphlets outlining his opinions on the proposed amendments.
The key presentations on day one include the Political Report by party Chair Oli, Statute Amendment Proposal by Vice President Bishnu Prasad Paudel and the Organisational Proposal by General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel.
On the second day of the convention, the reports were presented by party Central Election Commission Chair Dr Bijaya Subba, Account Commission Chair Dr. Pushpa Kandel, and Discipline Commission Chair Keshab Badal.
Meanwhile, a seven-member committee has been formed under the convenorship of party Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai to write the contemporary political proposal. In the closed session of the Convention today, party Chair made this announcement.
The Convention will conclude on Sunday. (RSS)
