The Chhayanath National Park located in Mugum Karmarong rural municipality-1 is the country's youngest national park. With this, the number of national parks in Nepal has reached 13.
The Chhayanath National Park has been established by separating only about 906 square kilometers of land from the Dolphu area of the Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality connected to the Shey-Phoksundo National Park in Dolpa.
The Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality had also requested Minister Shahi to separate the area connected to Shey-Phoksundo National Park and designate it as a separate conservation area.(RSS)
