Father arrested for attempting to rape daughter and niece

By Guna Bahadur Roka, Sulikot, Aug. 25: Police have arrested a father on charges of attempting to rape his own daughter and niece.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Gorkha, Indra Prasad Subedi, said 34-year-old Ja Kumar (name changed) of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality -3 in Gorkha district has been arrested for attempting to rape his daughter and his niece. 

According to him, Kumar was arrested while hiding based on a complaint filed by the victim's relatives on the evening of Wednesday, August 20, on charges of attempting to rape his own daughter and his brother's daughter while they were sleeping at home.

According to the Gorkha District Police Office, a case was registered against Kumar on Sunday under the heading of incestuous rape, and the Gorkha District Court extended his remand for seven days and is investigating the incident.

According to the police, the names have been kept confidential because of the father-daughter relationship between the victim and the defendant.
