Museum opens in Taksar

Taksar (Bhojpur), Aug 24: A museum has been established in Taksar of Bhojpur. The museum has been set up in the ward office building located in Taksar, Bhojpur Municipality-12, with the aim of preserving ancient and traditional materials.

An organization called Navodaya has established the 'Bhojpur Museum' and opened it to the public.

Kishore Kumar Tamrakar, the chairman of the organization, stated that the museum has been established with the objective of preserving traditional materials for future generations.

"In ancient times, coins of one and two paisa denominations used to be minted in Taksar. These coins have also been kept in the museum. We will move forward with long-term plans for its management and operation in the coming days," Tamrakar added.

Similarly, plough, wooden wares, traditional lanterns, clay pots, and cassettes have been curated in the museaum. The secretary of the organization, Yadu Suwal, mentioned that the museum was established by collecting traditional articles used at the local level.

Sirjana Rai, the State Minister at the Chief Minister's Office in Koshi Province, expressed confidence that the museum would help preserve the culture and traditions of the place, mentioning that Taksar is a historic place.

Social activist Chandra Kumar Udas said that the museum has been established in Taksar to preserve its history, which was founded during the reign of King Girvana Yuddha Shah in the year 1872 BS.  (RSS)
