One dies while electrofishing in Jhapa
Birtamod, Aug 23: One person has died from an electric shock while electrofishing in Kankai rural municipality, Jhapa.
The deceased has been identified as Pankaj Majhi, 37, a resident of Kankai municipality-1. According to the police, he was electrofishing in a local river when the incident occurred at around 8:30 am today.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bijay Shrestha, Chief of the Area Police Office, confirmed the fatality.
It is said that incidents of death due to electric shocks have increased lately in the district.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said. (RSS)
