Nepal registers second victory in Top End T20 Series

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug 20: Nepal defeated Melbourne Renegades Academy by 33 runs in the Top End T20 Series at Palmerston, Australia, on Wednesday.

This is Nepal's second victory in the Series. 

Batting first, Nepal has scored a total of 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs in nine wickets. Nepali batsman Kushal Malla scored 29 runs, Dipendra Singh Airee 27, Lokesh Bam 24, Bhim Sharki 17, Rupesh Singh 16, and Aarif Sheikh hit 12 runs. Other Nepali batsmen couldn't score runs in double digits. 

Melbourne Renegades Academy's bowlers Fergus O'Neill, Callum Stow, Lachlan Bangs and Michael Archer took two wickets each.

In response, following the medium target of 140 runs, MR Academy became all-out by scoring 106 runs in 20 overs. 

To defend a medium score, Nepali Bawler Sompal Kami took five wickets alone, whereas Kushal Bhurtel took two and Shahab Alam and Rupesh Singh took a single wicket each.

Academy's Arjun Nair scored 26 runs, Jai Lemire 18, Harry Dixon 16, Oliver Peake 14 and Harry Hoekstra scored 11 runs. Other batsmen couldn't score runs in double digits.
