Embankment along Shikaribas stream to prevent inundation

Birgunj, July 12: A makeshift embankment will be constructed along the Shikaribas stream of Thori rural municipality-3 to prevent erosion and inundation. 

In view of active monsoon rains flooding the rivers and stream, Shikaribas settlement see increasing threat of inundation. So, the process for temporary embankment has been initiated. 

Chief of Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division in Parsa, engineer Rakesh Sah informed the embankment would be set up at Rs 1 million so that Shikaribas settlement would be safe from inundation and erosion. 

"We have started the undertaking. Seventy families settle at Shikaribas", he added.  The settlement lies around six kilometers inside the postal highway bordering Thori. (RSS)
