blog

Kathmandu, July 11: Minister for Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary, has said the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) would conduct the Nepal Premier League (NPL) tournament in a more systematic way.

Addressing the 'Youth Journalism Awards' handover programme organized by the Ministry in Kathmandu on Friday, Minister Chaudhary mentioned that despite various controversies, the NPL event would be managed smoothly. After the completion of the first edition, a complaint regarding the NPL was lodged with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

In response, the anti-graft body sent a letter to the Ministry for necessary action.

Minister Chaudhary further reminded, "We have the Procurement Act and Regulations, the Sports Development Act-2075 to forward the procurement law. The NPL take places within the framework of laws and regulations."

On a different note, Minister Chaudhary emphasized that the journalism must raise the voice of voiceless people by disseminating impartial and reliable news.

The Ministry has been providing the youth journalism award to encourage young journalists in sports and youth issues, according to him.(RSS)
