By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 8: Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the severe floods in the Lhende River on the Nepal-China border.

A statement issued by Nepali Congress Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said that the incident of the disappearance of 15 citizens, including three policemen, was extremely tragic.

The torrential rainfall that occurred upstream, on the Chinese side, flooded the stream that damaged the yard of the Customs Office, Rasuwa, according to the Armed Police Force (APF). Nine loaded containers were swept away by the flood.

Nepali Congress draws the serious attention of the government to make the rescue work more systematic and effective during this disaster.

NC also makes a public appeal for adopting a high level of vigilance.
