By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 5: Nepal clinched the ACC Men's U16 East Zone Cup 2025 title, beating Singapore by 2 wickets on Saturday at YSD UKM Oval, Bangi, Malaysia.
Batting first, Singapore scored a total of 113 runs before being all out in 40.5 overs.
Singapore's Rohan Austin Arun scored the highest 23 runs, whereas Riaan Naik, Vedansh Gupta and Akash Teja scored 15, 12 and 10 runs respectively. Other Singapore batsmen failed to hit runs in double digits.
To wrap up Singapore in a small total, Nepali bowlers Abhay Yadav and Shushil Bahadur Rawal took 3 wickets each. Similarly, Shubham Khanal took two wickets, whereas Bipin Prasad Sharma took a single wicket.
In response, Nepal achieved the target of 114 runs by making 117 runs in 29 overs in 8 wickets.
Nepali batsmen Joy Thapa scored 24 runs, Shiwansh Bajgain scored 20, Shubham Khanal scored 18, Prashiddha Jaishi scored 17, Parimarjan Yadav scored 13 runs, Abhay Yadav scored 10, and Sugam Budhathoki and Sachin Bhatta scored a single run each.
Singapore's bowler Kapish Venkatraman took four wickets alone. Yuvaan Pandey took two wickets, and Vedansh Gupta and Akash Teja took a single wicket each.
