Women Skill Development Centre to impart skills to women

Jhapa, June 28:  Mechinagar municipality has constructed Women Skill Development Centre with an objective of making women of rural areas entrepreneurs by imparting skill. 

The centre was constructed at a cost of Rs 350 million of federal government, province government and municipality and has been brought into operation.

Deputy Mayor of the municipality, Mina Upreti, shared that the centre was constructed with an objective of making women from poor, marginalized, oppressed communities within the municipality entrepreneur.

She shared that centre constructed at Mechinagar-8 is one of the pride projects of the municipality and the municipality would facilitate for the market of the products produced by the women in the centre.  

"We will make them empowered by imparting skills they want", she mentioned, adding the training centre would be benefitted for those women willing to become entrepreneur.  

The centre would impart different types of skill-oriented training including making decorative items, bags, flowers vase, Dhaka weaving, as well as computer training to help women to become self-dependent through income generation. (RSS)
