'Fake police' arrested in Rani
By Khem Raj Sapkota, Rani, June 21: Police have arrested a fake police officer who has been extorting money by threatening locals in the Morang district.
Arrested was Biratnagar Metropolitan City - 12 resident, 25 years old, Dhan Bahadur Tharu.
According to the Spokesperson of District Police Office Morang, DSP Kopila Chundal, Tharu was arrested from Rani-Jogbani road of Biratnagar - 16 on Friday.
From the preliminary investigation, it has been found that Tharu used to threaten people who entered Nepal via Jogbani checkpoint carrying goods and extort money by claiming to be a police officer.
