Shot fired in Sarlahi, three including inspector injured

By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, June 21: Three people, including a police inspector, got injured in a clash between two parties on Saturday morning during a road expansion project in Khairatole, Barahathawa Municipality-4, Sarlahi.

Acting Information Officer and Police Inspector Balistar Singh of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, informed Gorkhapatra Online that the police fired one round of blank fire to control the clash.

Three people, including Police Inspector Diwakar Ganesh, working at the Area Police Office, Barahathawa, got injured in the clash.

According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, Police Inspector Ganesh sustained injury while trying to control the clash, and two other civilians got injured during the clash.

Police Inspector Singh of the District Police Office said that further details are awaited as the injured are being rescued from the incident site and taken to the hospital.

A large number of police personnel, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from the Area Police Office, Barhathawa, and the Armed Police Force, have been deployed at the incident site. 

According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, the situation is returning to normal as the clash has been brought under control, according to the District Police Office, Sarlahi.

A video of a woman being dragged along by a group of men and women while widening a road in Khairatol on Thursday is currently going viral on social media.

It is said that since that day, a dispute over the road expansion has led to a clash between the two parties.
