Man dies four days after being brutally attacked by elephant

By Lila Raj Khadka, Birtamod,  June 20: Purna Kumar Shrestha, aged 68, of Durjanchowk, Mechinagar Municipality, who was seriously injured because of an attack by a wild elephant, has passed away.

Shrestha, who was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack three days ago, was undergoing treatment at B & C Medical College Teaching Hospital & Research Center Private Limited, Birtamod. 

Purna was brought home by his son, Tej Bahadur Shrestha, on Thursday evening when his health failed to improve. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Jhap,a said that Purna died at home at around 8 PM on Thursday.

The hospital said Shrestha's ribs were broken and his ankle and spine were fractured in the elephant attack. 

Purna was attacked ban y elephant on June 16.
