Birat Literary Hiking held

BY A STAFF REPORTER, Bhaktapur, June 2: Birat Nepalbhasha Sahitya Sammelan Guthi organised the Birat Literary Hiking on Saturday.

The hiking was organised with the concept of observing various places in Bhaktapur and inquiring about history of the places as well as reciting literary works, said Mahendra Gopal Karmacharya, Chairman of Birat Guthi.

The hiking, which lasted about 3 hours and 30 minutes, started from Taa Pukhu (Siddha Pukhu) in Bhaktapur and ended with a literary reading.

The guardians and priests of Taleju informed the hikers about the Vedic and Tantric history of Bhairav Chowk, Kumari Chowk, and Sundhara Lunhiti Pukhu.

A total of 67 literary figures from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre and Sindhupalchowk participated in the hiking
