Republic Day marked in provinces, districts

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Hetauda, May 30: Republic Day was marked across all seven provinces and 77 districts on Thursday by organising various events and activities.

In Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province, the Republic Day Main Ceremony Committee organised a special programme to celebrate the day. The event began with a rally that assembled at the grounds of Bhutandevi Secondary School. Participants marched through School Road, Buddha Chowk, Chauki Tole and Manas Chowk before concluding on the premises of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers with a morning parade.

The ceremony was attended by Bagmati Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota, Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama Tamang, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Suraj Chandra Lamichhane, provincial ministers, members of parliament, government employees, journalists, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and others.

Various cultural performances reflecting Nepalis art and tradition were showcased during the event. Individuals from various sectors who have made significant contributions to society were honoured during the ceremony.

Likewise, the Lumbini Provincial Government marked the Republic Day in a grand manner in Butwal. 

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya said that republic is a glorious achievements of the Nepali people. 

Likewise, in Banke and Rautahat district, blood donation programmes were conducted on the occasion while in Sunsari, a morning rally was organised in the participation of public.  Likewise, the day was marked in Mahottari by organising various programmes. 

Similarly, the Republic Day was also observed in Dhankuta.
