By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 30: Nepali Samaj Germany recently celebrated the 10th Nepal Day in Frankfurt. On the occasion, the Saalbau Bornheim in Frankfurt became a vibrant gathering place for friends of Nepal.
The event offered a rich and diverse programme celebrating Nepal’s culture, people, and global ties.
The event was graced by Ambassador of Nepal to Germany Dr. Shail Rupakheti.
The City of Frankfurt was represented by the Chief of Staff of the Mayor’s Office, showing strong support for the Nepali community.
On the occasion, three speakers, mountaineer Susmita Maskey, Shailendra Jha of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Chair of Nepal Aid Dr. Frank Seiler shared their views and insights.
Mountaineer Maskey delivered her talk on ‘Beyond the Summit: A Journey through Mountains, Trauma and Triumph’, reflecting on her personal journey of resilience and healing.
Similarly, Jha presented a paper on From Access to Excellence: Redefining Education in Nepal, focusing on educational transformation.
Likewise, Dr. Seiler spoke on Emergency Rescue by Helicopter in Nepal, offering a glimpse into life-saving efforts in remote regions.
A parallel children’s programme introduced young visitors to Nepal through fun and educational activities.
During the event, traditional Nepali food and drinks were served, and a photo booth with backdrops like Mount Everest and Lumbini allowed visitors to take home special memories.
Artists from around the world performed live music, dance, and song – a true celebration of cultural diversity.
“We couldn’t bring Nepal to Germany, but we brought the feeling of being in Nepal,” said Shiva Adhikari, Chairman of Nepali Samaj.
