By Bijay Kumar Sah,Dhalkewar, May 23: Huts built by encroaching forest land have been removed in Dhanusha district. According to the Division Forest Office, Dhanusha, nine huts constructed by encroaching land in the Charnath Community Forest area of Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-6 have been demolished.

Binod Singh, Chief of the Division Forest Office, Dhanusha, confirmed that the huts built on more than three hectares of forest land were cleared. He said that these structures were removed because attempts were being made to use forest land for private purposes by building huts on it.

According to him, a team led by Bhaglu Mandal, officer of the Kamala Sub-Division Forest Office, and Baijnath Singh, commander of the District Forest Security Team, cleared the encroached land with the help of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police.

Division Chief Singh said, “After unauthorised attempts were made to occupy forest land by constructing huts, a team was deployed, and the huts were dismantled and removed.”

He added that, with the support of the local administration, security forces and concerned agencies, encroached forest lands in other areas would also be cleared in the coming days.
