By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 21:The ‘Panchpokhari Painting and Tourism Promotion Workshop’ began on Tuesday, jointly organised by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts and Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk.
At the event, Pradeep Adhikari, Head of the Department of Architecture and Folk Art at the Academy, said that such workshops help raise social awareness and uplift the living standards of the locals.
He said that the artworks created during the workshop would reflect the rural municipality’s nature and culture.
Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, Tasi Lama, expressed the municipality’s continued commitment to the preservation of art and emphasised their efforts to make the area a tourism hub.
Likewise, Nigma Chhiring Tamang, Chairperson of Ward No. 3, highlighted the significant role of art workshops in promoting tourism.
He said that economic prosperity for locals is possible through tourism and that artists are contributing to this initiative through their participation in the programme.
The workshop, which will run until May 22, includes participation from artists such as Keshav Raj Khanal, Rajan Kafle, Dibesh Man Pradhan, Nar Bahadur BK, Liladhar KC, Rajendra Kunwar, Ram Narayan Mahato, Sushma Shrestha, Manra Prajapati, Pritam Thapa, Sikander Chaudhary, Sanad Maharjan, Binita Khadka, Kamal Adhikari, Sarmila Moktan, and Rojina Gurung.
