By Navin Raj Kuinkel, Lamjung, May 15: A son has killed his father in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4 of Lamjung.
Police have said that Lu Bahadur, the eldest son of 57-year-old Nawaraj Gurung, killed his father on Wednesday morning.
District Police Office, Lamjung, said that Lu has been arrested on charges of murder.
Police immediately dispatched a team to the scene after receiving information that Nawaraj Gurung's body was found dead in front of his own house at around 6 AM on May 13.
The initial investigation revealed that Gurung had sustained serious injuries to various parts of his body, including his head and eyes.
Chief of the District Police Office, Lamjung, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)Ramesh Bohora said that the location of the incident and the condition of the body raised suspicions of unnatural death.
Further investigation revealed that the deceased's son had murdered him
During the investigation, the deceased's eldest son, 23-year-old Lu Bahadur Gurung, gave a statement that he killed his father with a stick during an argument over a domestic dispute at night.
"Based on his statement and evidence, Lu has been taken into custody, and a case of manslaughter was registered," said DSP Resham Bohora.
Information Officer Police Inspector Raj Kishore Sah Teli said that further investigation has been initiated against him after obtaining permission from the Lamjung District Court for a seven-day extension of his remand.
