Obstruction on BP Highway

Dhulikhel, May 13: The BP Highway which was closed for traffic has been reopened after 16 hours. The roadway was closed after the flood in the Roshi River washed away a diversion on the highway at Mamti, Roshi Rural Municipality-12 of Kavrepalanchok on Monday.

Two-way vehicular traffic has resumed since this afternoon after the repair of the diversion, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale.

The road was blocked since Monday night after the flood in the Roshi River. The road was reopened with the help of the police and locals at the initiative of the Road Division Office Bhaktapur, said Chandra Bahadur Lama, an employee at the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur.

The flood that occurred in the Roshi River from September 26 to 28 last year had caused damage to various sections of the B.P. Highway. After that, the Road Division Office had operated traffic by building temporary diversion along the riverside.(RSS)
