By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 9: On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Nepalaya, a publication house, is organising a book fair with special discounts of up to 60 per cent on its publications.

The two-day book fair, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, will also feature meet-and-greet sessions with authors and book signings.

Issuing a press release on Thursday,  Nepalaya informed that the book fair is being organised to allow readers to purchase its publications at discounted prices in one place and to provide opportunities to meet their favourite authors.

“Our first book, ‘Palpasa Cafe’, received immense love from readers,” said Nepalaya’s CEO Saijan Maskey.

“In appreciation of the love we have received over the past 20 years, we are preparing to give readers a delightful experience by hosting the fair at our own office in Kalikasthan.”

More than 30 authors whose books were published by Nepalaya will attend the fair, said Maskey.

“Authors like Achyut Krishna Kharel, Aruna Uprety, Ani Choying Drolma, Aabhas, Kali Prasad Rijal, Kishore Thapa, Kumar Nagarkoti, Ganesh Prasad Lath, Girish Giri, Jeevan Kumar Prasai, JB Darlami, Taranidhi Bhattarai, Tulsi Bhattarai, Dinesh Adhikari, Durga Karki, Narayan Wagle, Nimananda Rijal, Padma Sundar Joshi, Maheshraj Pant, Luj Mathema, Biplav Pratik, Shrawan Mukarung, and Sudip Shrestha,” said Maskey.

The book fair will begin with the launch of Jeevan Kumar Prasai’s fifth book, ‘Kasto Chha Timilai’, ‘Yo Man Sodhirahanchha’ on Saturday.

Ten years ago, Prasai’s book ‘Jeevan Jiune Kaida’ was published by Nepalaya and became a bestseller. It has now been reprinted for the ninth time. Prasai’s new book focuses on emotional intelligence.

“We are in the age of AI, but I am focused on EI, which refers to ‘Emotional Intelligence,’ said Prasai.

The book fair will conclude with a poetry recital event.

Nepalaya has also been broadcasting one poem weekly under the title E-Kabita for the past three years. A total of 15 poets, including those featured in E-Kabita and those whose poetry collections have been published by Nepalaya, will recite poems, according to poet Shravan Mukarung.

Shrestha hopes that this two-day book fair will spark new enthusiasm among authors, readers, and critics.

Publication Nepalaya has stated that if this book fair succeeds, it will increase such activities in the future.
