By Our Correspondent,Humla, May 7: Author Basanta Shree has published Vote as her tenth literary work while residing in the mountainous district of Humla.
Also, a writer by profession, his latest work is a small poem, which was released just a few days ago.
Basant Rokaya, a resident of Simkot Rural Municipality, 5 in Humla district, said that the book is her 12th publication.
The book revolves around the idea that current politics is more focused on votes rather than ideology, and this very issue has been explored in the work, he said.
It highlights how politics has deviated from principle-based practices and instead revolves around gaining votes. Particularly in remote areas, vote-centric politics is more prominent.
His poetry reveals that values and ideology hold little significance, and politicians appear more concerned with strategies to win votes.
The essence of the book suggests that in the name of development politics, vote politics is being practised.
The book also portrays how the Himalayan communities are awaiting competent leadership.
It presents the notion that development and systems are more connected to the existing conditions rather than structured governance.
His poem calls for generational change and leadership transition in politics, emphasising the need to understand the demands of the time and to adopt progressive thinking and behaviour.
It also seeks to convey that service, good governance, development, and systems should benefit the people.
In this poetic work, characters like Himal, Yarsa, Juna, and Jaimala give life to the book, helping to depict the social landscape, character, circumstances, and mindset of the region.
Previously, Basanta Shree has published Akshar Ya Chitkarharu, Hatya Garau ki Atmahatya, Gaunko Betha, Ek Katha Dui Nayika, Roera Haseka Jindagiharu, Ujyaloko Khoji, Rupantaran, Bunu, Madhumadhav, and Yarsa.
