By Murari Adhikari,Dhading, May 4: The Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal has established a Border Out Post (BOP) in Tipling, a northern area of Dhading district located near the border with China. The post was jointly inaugurated by Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak and Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, during a formal ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Lekhak said that the safety of the public remains the state’s foremost priority. He emphasised that enhancing the capacity of police posts in remote border regions is crucial for ensuring national security.

He also highlighted the importance of community cooperation, saying that the police can only function effectively with public support.

He called on local residents to work with the security forces to protect valuable natural resources in the area, including medicinal herbs, rubies and wildlife.

Similarly, Agriculture Minister Adhikari said that the establishment of the APF’s border security unit would significantly strengthen peace and security in the northern part of the district. He expressed confidence that the smuggling of precious metals, herbs and wildlife would now be curtailed.

The BOP was set up in Labdung, Ward No. 1 of Ruby Valley Rural Municipality. The inauguration ceremony was attended by former minister Tek Bahadur Gurung, Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Inspector General of the APF, Raju Aryal, Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire, and other dignitaries.

Chairman of Ruby Valley, Ram Singh Tamang, said that with the establishment of the border security unit, border security will be strengthened, peace and safety for locals will improve, and the response to criminal activities and natural disasters will be more efficient.

It is expected that the presence of the BOP will guarantee improved security and easier access to public services in this remote border region.

Ruby Valley, which borders China, is known for its valuable natural resources, including high-value rubies and medicinal herbs.
