The festival will encompass various forms of art in Nepal, including visual arts, sculpture, handicrafts, folk art, multi-dimensional and other creative arts, with the goal of promoting and developing the market for art materials and the various art forms.
Through this festival, artists, critics, scholars, intellectuals, researchers and creators will come together at one venue to promote fine arts, honour artists and contribute to the country's cultural economy through fine arts.
The festival is expected to contribute to the development of Nepali fine arts, said the organiser.
Lal Kaji Lama, the Vice Chancellor of the academy and coordinator of the programme, said that preparations for the event are in the final stages.
He said, “We have made an effort to cover all forms of fine arts in this festival. Visitors will not only see art stalls but also witness artists directly creating artworks. Additionally, there will be various cultural and literary programmes, as well as seminars.”
According to Lama, the festival will help further establish the Academy’s premises as the focal point of art.
The festival, which will include all the popular fine art forms in Nepal, will be attended by students, intellectuals, economists, politicians, public representatives, artists, writers, as well as art enthusiasts from both within Nepal and abroad.
The event will focus on promoting Nepali traditional culture through fine arts, boosting the market for Nepali fine arts, developing art tourism, and increasing the social importance of fine arts.
The festival, featuring over 50 stalls, will run until April 19.
