Photo exhibition begins in Dhankuta

By Our Correspondent,Dhankuta, APR. 11: A month-long photo exhibition has started in Dhankuta with the aim of preserving and promoting cultural diversity and heritage.

The exhibition has been organised by the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Museum in collaboration with the Provincial Museum, Dhankuta.

The exhibition features old, rare and historical photographs of Nepal’s cultural world heritage sites, other heritage locations and various cultural places from the Dhankuta district.

Kajiman Pyakurel, head of the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Museum, said that the exhibition, organised during the initial phase of the Koshi Province Tourism Year, is expected to support the province's tourism sector.

The exhibition includes both old and recent photographs of World Heritage Sites such as the Pashupatinath Temple and Lumbini, along with images of Dhankuta dating back around 50 years.

The organisers informed that the exhibition aims to reflect the traditional way of life in Dhankuta.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Dhankuta Municipality Mayor Chintan Tamang said that the event would further help bring the heritage sites and the cultural reality of Dhankuta closer to the public.

The exhibition, which is being held in the hall of the Provincial Museum, features 60 photographs. 

The festival will run until May 14 and is expected to contribute to the promotion of tourism.
