International Transport Conference on April 11-13

Kathmandu, April 7: The Third International Transport Conference-2025 will be taking place on April 11-13. The theme of the event is "Towards Safe, Sustainable, Efficient and Resilient Mobility".  

The event to be organised by the Society of Transport Engineers Nepal aims to collect feedback for formulating polices for sustainable and safe transportation.

The event will focus on initiatives for improving public transport system, making it widely accessible, effective and environment-friendly, said organization Chair Dr Hareram Shrestha. 

Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management and the Ministry of Urban Development are the co-organisers of the event which will bring together scholars, professionals, and experts from diverse fields to discuss the latest research, innovations, and developments, it is said. 

The conference will be centered on exploring ways for safe and resilient transport and mobility through collective efforts. The participants will engage in in-depth discussions for finding measures for the overall reform of the transport sector and the future strategy. 

The use of Artificial Intelligence in the promotion of smart transport system and the expansion of smart transport service through the application of artificial intelligence transportation system, the development of resilient infrastructure, the promotion of the transport system capable of resisting climate change impact and other disasters are the objectives of the event, Dr Shrestha said. 

It is said the organsiers believe that the Conference will be crucial in determining a course towards safe, sustainable, effective and resilient transport system and mobility. (RSS)
