House informed about arrest of RPP lawmaker Rana

Kathmandu, March 31: The House on Monday informed about the arrest of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Dhawal Shumsher JB Rana on the charge of committing an offense against the State.     

In a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Monday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire informed the parliament that the legislator was apprehended from Satdobato of Lalitpur. He presently remains in the police confinement for further investigation into the case, according to Ghimire.     

The Speaker said the parliament has received a letter from the District Police Range with the details on the matter.     

He cited that the House was apprised of the development for the purpose of Rule 48 (1) of House of Representatives Regulations-2079 BS.     

Similarly, the Speaker informed the House that as per the letter from the Office of the Prime Minister, Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Adhikari, has been designated to take charge of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, as Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Damodar Bhandari, has on March 27 left here for Malta to take part in the 16th NRNA regional conference.
