Kathmandu, Apr. 11: The government is preparing to roll out a new digital service allowing users to obtain ‘No Objection Certificates (NOC) and Public Service Commission exam admit cards directly through the Nagarik App within a week.
The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) said that arrangements are being finalised to enable access to key services via the app, including the No Objection Certificate required for foreign study, Public Service Commission admit cards, and the Personal Information System (PIS) details of civil servants.
According to Director General Chandra Sah, the new features are currently in the technical testing phase. Once fully operational, the system is expected to significantly reduce the need for queues and cumbersome paperwork in accessing government services, he added
The initiative follows a directive from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) to implement point number 35 of the “100-point Governance Reform Agenda” approved by the Cabinet on March 27.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology Dr. Bikram Timilsina has instructed officials to complete the work within a set deadline, prompting the department to expedite coordination with other government agencies. In this connection, an agreement has already been reached with the Nepal Engineering Council, and professional engineers will soon be able to access their certification digitally via the app.
The government aims to develop the Nagarik App into a one-stop platform for all public services. The online issuance of police clearance certificates has already been successfully implemented, officials said.
