Kathmandu, Feb 19: Twelve staffs at Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) have been awarded in a programme organized on the occasion of its 64th anniversary today. The awards were distributed in various six categories.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, conferred the awards at a function organized at RSS central office in the federal capital.
Editor at international desk, Dilip Prasad Sharma, and senior editing assistant at Nepali desk, Chhabi Lal Kumal, were awarded under the category of best editing. Each of them received Rs 10,000 and a letter of certificate.
Reporter at RSS central office, Kalika Khadka, and chief of Bharatpur Office, Narayan Prasad Adhikari, were awarded as the best reporters. It was Hariram Bhetwal to secure the best photo journalist award at RSS. Each of them were provided Rs 10,000 and a letter of certificate.
Madhav Prasad Ghimire from Lalitpur, Tilak Raj Ojha from Kailali, and Sangita Rai from Sunsari were provided Rs 20,000 and letter of certificate each as the best stringers.
Those to receive the best feature writing award were Chandra Kala Bhandari from Jhapa and Tikaram Sunar from the central office. They got Rs 10,000 each and a letter of certificate.
Bhandari's feature was relating to nonchalance to rising suicide, while Sunar's focus was on violence in entertainment sector.
The best employees for this year were office assistant at central office, Rajinan Shah, and office assistant at Madhes Province Office, Surya Prasad Baral. Each of them received Rs 10,000 and a letter of certificate.(RSS)
