Ruling parties agree on early endorsement of ordinances

Kathmandu, Feb 15: The top leaders of the ruling parties have agreed to endorse the recently issued ordinances from both Houses of the federal parliament at the earliest.     

The meeting of the ruling coalition convened at the official residence of Prime Minister today decided on the same, informed Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak.     

The meeting also decided to accelerate the procedural works regarding the passage of the bills without any delay, Minister Lekhak added.     

"The ordinances will be taken forward based on the agreement among us. This issue will be sorted in a positive manner," he assured, adding that since all ordinances are to be replaced, the replacement bills will be initiated after discussions with all parties.     

On a different context, the Minister responded that a consensus was reached with the Janata Samajwadi Party leaders on the endorsement of the ordinances.     

The meeting also dwelt on effectiveness of government activities and parliamentarians representing the ruling parties.     

Present in the meeting were Prime Minister and CPN UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and UML Senior Vice-Chairperson Ishwor Pokharel.     

Similarly, also in attendance were Nepali Congress Vice Chairman, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Ashok Kumar Rai, Chairman of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Mahanth Thakur, Chairwoman of Nagarik Unmukti Party, Ranjita Shrestha, and Vice Chairman of Janamat Party, Abdul Khan, among others.
