Finance Minister Paudel and Pokhara Mayor Acharya airlifted to Kathmandu

By Phadindra Adhikari, Lekhnath, Feb.15:  Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paude Paudel and Mayor of the Pokhara Metropolitan City Dhanraj Acharya, have been airlifted to Kathmandu via Simrik Air helicopter for further treatment. 

Both received burns and injuries after a balloon, prepared for the inauguration of the Visit Nepal Year in Pokhara, burst.

Paudel was airlifted to the capital for further treatment around 3:00 PM. 

Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski Shiva Lamsal said that both the injured have been sent to Kirtipur Burn Hospital for treatment.

Both leaders were injured when a balloon, with a banner celebrating the Visit Nepal Year, burst during the opening ceremony in Pokhara, around 1: 15 PM today. 

Mayor Acharya sustained a burn on cheek and part of his head, while Deputy Prime Minister Paudel received burns on his head and face by splashes of fire.
