Senior journalist Dahal felicitated

Kathmandu, Feb 8: The Okhaldhunga Journalists' Society has honored senior journalist Homnath Dahal.

Senior journalist duo Dhruvahari Adhikari and Rajendra Dahal felicitated him on behalf of the society at a program held at journalist Dahal's residence in Maitidevi, Kathmandu.     

Born in Rampur, Molung Rural Municipality-2, Okhaldhunga, 83-year-old Dahal is the editor and publisher of Rashtrapukar Weekly and the former central president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists. He was elected a member of parliament from Okhaldhunga Constituency No. 1 in 2056 BS and later became the Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives.     

On the occasion, Senior journalist Dhruvahari Adhikari said that journalist Dahal has a special contribution to the Nepali journalism sector while Senior journalist Rajendra Dahal discussed the contribution he made by fearlessly pursuing journalism in favour of democracy during the Panchayat period.     

The respected journalist Dahal expressed his gratitude to the society for remembering and respecting him.     

Journalists Jibanath Dhamala, Jibaram Bhandari, Bal Kumar Nepal, Naradmuni Gautam, Tulasihari Koirala and others were present on behalf of the Okhaldhunga Journalists' Society.     

Society President Chetnath Dhamala shared that the organization was established with the objective of organizing all journalists born in Okhaldhunga and working in the field of journalism.(RSS)
