Kathmandu, Jan 20: Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has moved ahead with health insurance reforms according to the report of the Health Insurance Reforms Suggestion Task Force.
Internal homework has been carried out for immediate practical and policy reforms and long-term reforms according to the suggestions given by the report. Minister Paudel has formed an internal working group under the coordination of Additional Secretary of the Ministry, Dipendraraman Singh, according to the Minister's Secretariat.
The members of the working group are Dr Saroj Sharma, Head of the Ministry's Quality Measurement and Control Division, Dr Anup Bastola, Under Secretary (Law) Gopikrishna Regmi and Under Secretary Shalikram Dahal as Member Secretary.
On Sunday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have given a positive response to Health Minister Paudel's proposal to revise the health insurance program based on the recommendations of the report. After the Prime Minister's approval, Minister Poudel has started the reform process.
The task force will take the report and include it in the action plan for immediate and long-term implementation.(RSS)
